Stream One: Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs)

In this stream we will focus on how to establish viable PPP mechanism, formulate the comprehensive legal framework for PPP and learn how to cater to the various challenges faced when adopting this financing model. Also focus on establishing an attractive and enabling environment for PPPs to encourage private sector involvement and develop market-credible projects to accelerate infrastructure development.

Stream Two: Alternative Financing

This stream will focus on the role of financing institutions, the alternative financing mechanisms they offer and partnerships with private institutions, banks, local governments, state owned enterprises and multilaterals to increase capacity of infrastructure funding and diversify long term funding sources. Also will delve into how local finance initiatives (LFIs) and leveraged/ structured finance techniques are being used to mobilize Asian domestic capital to advance local economic development opportunities in infrastructure.

DAY THREE

Solving the Infrastructure Financing Gap

This workshop aims at gaining a comprehensive understanding of how to bridge the gap between supply and demand of infrastructure by understanding how to structure PPP projects in the most efficient way. The course will provide tools, methodologies and processes to assist governments and related agencies to improve and effectively structure PPP projects to expedite the infrastructure development and at the same time, gain the various perspectives from all stakeholders involved. The current challenges of PPP preparation and structuring will be addressed using case studies and interactive group discussions. It will explore ways in developing your infrastructure project within the enabling environment towards a viable and more bankable project to attract more private investment.
